Since an early age Dave Moreno has shown a deep affection towards everything that represents his Chicago surroundings. Being a Chicago native has exposed Dave to many cultural environments and genres of music, but he took a more traditional turn to his town gemstone known as house music. Like other DJs, Dave started playing at friends’ parties and at small clubs, but unlike those who emulate the charts of other successful DJs, Dave has stuck to his roots of traditional Chicago house. Dave’s efforts have allowed people to re-discover an entire genre from the roots and soul of its origin.
As Dave’s skills evolved, he landed opening spots for many of Chicago’s best DJs. This soon turned to being on the bill with some of the big names in the industry, such as Green Velvet, Paul Oakenfold and Dave Seaman. His performances gathered crowds of avid house music listeners. As Dave’s following grew, he set set his sights on stepping outside of Chicago and began to build his network book gigs in dance music hotspots such as Miami & Puerto Rico.
In 2010 DJ Dave Moreno is scheduled to play in Barcelona, Madrid, San Jose as well as other major Latin American cities. With upcoming mix releases set for this spring, Dave continues his journey toward immortalizing Chicago house while staying at the cutting edge of world dance music.
Currently Dave is broadcasting a weekly show on www.dirtyradio.org, a global dance music radio station sponsored by the British electronic band, Underworld. Dave continues to perform live for several promotion agencies throughout Chicago, keeping steady in his hometown as perhaps one of the most influential local heroes with tremendous potential.
